I have been working with Daryl for more than two years. Our sessions have focused on my personal development and wellbeing, as well as helping me to tackle any work-related issues. A highlight of our work together was a day-long session when I was struggling in my previous role. We drew a mind map of the expectations placed on me, analysed my strengths, discussed my interests and future ambitions. It was a powerful session that has led to many realisations. As a result, I was able to restructure my role and my department, reduce stress levels, and position the company for sustainable growth and success. It has enabled me to create an environment that is in line with my personal values and goals, leading to increased job satisfaction.

Daryl developed my skill set in multiple areas including, building my confidence further to stand up and speak up in those awkward situations that all leaders and managers have to be exposed to. He picks up on words, mannerisms or ways something is put forward, and then challenges you to understand if this is a positive or something that is of concern to you. By doing this, he makes you feel at ease, allowing you to clear your mind, think and replay what has just been said and see the solution either by yourself or with some little nuggets of advice, no matter how challenging it first appeared to be. Senior Engineering Manager
Daryl ran a mini workshop on feedback and communication for a group of 30 female leaders. The session was the 1st time that all leaders had been in one place at the same time. It was important to create a safe, open space where the leaders could share openly and honestly. Daryl has a really relaxed and open manner and was able to quickly put the group at ease. It was an interactive and engaging session with discussion, exercises and practical takeaways. Everyone loved the session and gave great feedback on the content and his facilitation skills. The leaders have reported higher levels of confidence leading to higher engagement in their teams. I hope that Daryl will run some more sessions for our leaders as there are some key gaps in knowledge and attitude that we need to improve on.

Working with Daryl as my coach helped me enormously. Having worked as a journalist for 30 years, I was not short of confidence. But as a manager I was inexperienced, so Daryl helped give me the tools I needed to manage people at various stages in their careers. He also helped me to realise that good communication skills are vital to being an effective manager, probably in every walk of life.
I also learned that where there is conflict at work between colleagues, or manager and team members, it is often caused by failure to communicate effectively. I consider myself lucky to have had Daryl as my coach, because of his approach: he gently guided me towards discovering the right path for myself. It was a most enlightening journey as I realised frequently that I knew all the solutions, if I could just have the confidence to communicate them better.
As a result of my coaching sessions with Daryl I have been promoted to Senior Editor at CNN, and I attribute this in no small part to his coaching!
